Thank Leslie. I did take that photo. I try to stick to my own work on this little project of mine. If you click on the link under the ME heading, it will take you to my website where I have a film about Carrie called French Panic. Perhaps you've already seen it though. It's my favourite project to date.
I took this shot in a park about a 10 to 15 minute walk from our front door. We get to see ships travel past our living room windows all the time... I never get bored of it. It's the best place we've ever lived. If you're ever visiting Vancouver, you have to drop by for coffee, at the very least.
I think the chinese have a thing about doubleness...something that probably just doesn't translate well to english. Down the street from my house is Double Happiness department store, and I've also seen Double Happiness Moving Company.
Thank you for visiting. I live in Vancouver now, but I've lived in other places too. I take photos and make short films about things and people.
Please comment and be argumentative. It amuses me.
Stunning photo, Tom. Did you take it? I can't see a flag at its stern, is it Chinese? Its name is reminiscent of a fortune cookie greeting.
ReplyDeleteIs this the kind of view you get from your windows on Wall Street? What a great place for two Albertans to be.
I'm thinking of Carrie today and her first day at work. Leslie
